Does doing Fasted Cardio work?

Fasted Cardio is doing your cardio sesh first thing in the morning.

When doing any type of workout, your body will either choose to burn more carbohydrates or fat to give you energy for the workout. Generally, when doing HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) the body will burn glycogen (stored carbs) for energy.
Doing Low-Intensity Cardio such as power walking the body will burn glycogen first and then switch to fat.

Therefore doing a power walk in the morning will work as your body will not have as many carbs stored, therefore you will burn more fat.
On the same note, it is not advised that you do a HIIT workout in the morning. The reason has been that you will not have enough energy to do the workout for a good amount of time. Therefore it will not be as effective.
That is why I generally prefer to have my power walks in the mornings and a HIIT sesh in the afternoons.

Power walking however is not the best to help you lose weight quickly. But it is best to help you burn fat and muscle in your legs.
One of the best ways to lose weight quickly is usually running, HIIT and most importantly eating at a calorie deficit.

WORKOUTS THAT CAN BULK UP

I must start by saying that there is no workout that can be regarded as a 'bad' workout and you should avoid it because it will bulk you up. It all depends on how much you keep doing it and what muscles are mostly used. In today's blog post, let's talk about the kind of workouts that when overdone are likely to add muscle. Squats Lunges High Knees Traditional HIIT(that which includes loads of jumping) Running up a hill Using the elliptical and stair master Lifting heavy weights Jumping rope To know exactly how they add bulk please read this post  here A lot of the above workouts focus so much on the quads and hamstrings. They will probably overwork these muscles leading them to grow bigger. Maybe too much than your liking.  The key here is not to avoid them but to do them in moderation. If you do a squat as a warmup. Then that is probably not a big problem. If you do HIIT twice a week, that is also acceptable. Want to know which workouts will not bulk you up. Click Here
